185 on 8" rim? Not a good idea

The taller profile and notably narrower tread width (as opposed to
section width) would make 185/65-14's work better as snows
than 195/60-14. I do find the idea of 185s on 7" rims to be somewhat
scary, but I'm no tire expert and tend to accept the acceptable rim
mounting width as expressed by the tire manufacturers as gospel.
FWIW, 185's on my 4KQ made the car absolutely unstoppable even
on 6 - 7" of fresh unpacked powder. Did it plenty of times with the car.
Packed was another story (5" of ground clearance made for some near
high centering plenty of times when the stuff was packed).
