[s-cars] RE: Audi S6 No Start

OK, I just checked and I have power from the red wire and the black/white
wire goes to ground. A bad combination! The Bentley shows the black white
wire terminating in a square box with a 33 in it. I just have to figure out
what that means. Anyone have any ideas!

Thanks for your help

OK guys. I've disconnected the coils at the firewall. The fuse still
blows. I was thumbing through the Bentley and the fuse is identified as S64
on page J 24-28 in Vol 1. I went to the wiring diagram (which I'm not that
good at understanding) and on X 848 it identifies that fuse as going to the
luggage compartment release switch and the Decklid central locking system
monitor. WTF! The fuse I am blowing is 5 amp, the book shows it as a 15
amp, and the wires look to be the right colors. None of the other fuses on
top of the ECU are blown. I think the book shows 3 and I have 4, and I am
looking under the AAN section. I know someone has been in there before as
the rug was cut, but it wasn't me. And the car ran fine like this for
years. I'm tempted to put a 15 amp fuse in there and see if it blows that
too.

Does it sound like a central locking system fuse could cause this problem?
The locks do work I believe

Agreed - sounds like blown ECU fuse. Now, WHY did it blow? Had a recent
experience with same problem mine was caused by a completely blown coil
which dead shorted the B+ voltage to ground. Blows that fuse every time.
:-( Repairs? Replace dead coil. You have the exact same problem? Dunno
but it's a possibility.
