I have looked at the Allroad and the VW Taureg and thought that the Taureg 
came out as the better all around vehicle. Do an online check for reliability 
for both vehicles. When I checked both vehicles had very poor reliability 
histories. For a start take a look at the vwvortex web site, they have a 
forum for the Taureg and for the Allroad.

Good luck with your car hunt. My wife has settled on a 2006 Passat.
