I just started my son down the slippery slope and he's only 14.

In a couple of years he'll take over my wife's '96 A6 and it needs 
some
attention :)

I snagged an airbag for a 3 spoke sport wheel on ebay. With the 
matching
passenger bag, it cost $175. I figure I'll resell the passenger bag 
and
cover my cost. I've got a line on a matching 3 spoke wheel, which 
are
somewhat easier to find than an undisturbed airbag.

The wheel is the worst part of her car. With a new steering wheel and 
an
empty spot where her servotronic relay now resides, he'll be ready to 
start
thinking about tire/wheel/suspension upgrades.

The wheel goes on the day he takes over the car. Until then mum's the 
word
:)

I'm also laying in a supply of 17" 5 spokers. They're not going on the 
car
until he takes it over as my wife seems to have a penchant for 
driving
through deep potholes.
