First part of your question:
[Disclaimer: I've never troubleshot this before, it's straight from the manual]
If the climate control system on that '85 in Bulgaria is the same as the one on the US model, the parts of the circuit involved are:
Terminals 85 and 86 of the Rear Defogger Relay (should be under the dash, the lower rightmost relay, #12 on the diagram)
Fuse 16 in the Fuse/Relay Panel (30A)
Terminal #9 on the A/C control head. 4th pin from left, bottom row of the connector viewed from the rear -- Brown Wire with White stripe (BR/W)
According to the Bentley, Terminal 86 of the relay is connected to Terminal 9 on the A/C control head, which triggers the relay on
and powers the rear window defogger through fuse S16.
