***** I use a store bought plug tester. It looks like a normal plug with
clamp welded to the body. The center electrode is surrounded by the outer
shell which is 1/4 inch away. You can make your own - use a standard plug
and bend ground electrode so its 1/4 inch away from center electrode.
Connect test plug to center wire of coil(unplug center wire from Dist cap)
The center wire may be a loose fit on the plug - use some aluminum foil
around the plug to take up the slack.
Clamp plug tester to good ground. I also attach a test lead between the
clamp and a known good clean ground.
Crank engine and look for sparks. You should get rhythmic good Blue/white
sparks jumping the gap.
If spark is yellow or orange looking, its on the weak side . . also, the
spark jumping may be hit or miss because of insufficient voltage.
