Hmmm... how about considering it an acceptable diagnostic test?

I really would recommend getting a bit gritty with that fusebox - it 
comes loose pretty easily, AFAIK, and you can remove connectors, grease 
'em, reinstall, do the same with the relays, then unplug it all and put 
it in a landfill where it belongs.

Seriously, though, what you very well might find are some plugs on the 
back with connections that show heat damage.

A better solution than that jumper would be to relay the headlights from 
the good wiring.
