battery charging and death

I found Pep Boys carries a ton of them, and I'm going to check out the 
one with the built-in desulfator circuit, and see how it works (we have 
one or two batteries that are in tough shape in this regard).  I'll hook 
up the scope and see what it's up to while it works on one of the 
batteries, and if it makes a difference.  I haven't built the DIY 
desulfator mostly because I had trouble finding exactly the components 
they specified, and I didn't really have the time to build and tinker 
with it(there was some adjustment involved.)  Maybe I'll get around to it.

I still recommend something like Battery Tender for long-term storage 
purposes.  The wall-wart should be plenty for a battery that is put on 
it in fair to good charge.
