No, not, MT-90 or MTL. You want one of the the GL-5 rated 75/90 fluid they sell. The GL-4
fluids like MTL and MT-90 are for the transmision, GL-5 for rear-ends.

Check around in the archives. I have experienced this myself in my Scirocco and many others
have spoken of winding up with "grindy" syncros after putting GL-5 rated lubricants into
manual transmissions. Mobil 1 gear oil for instance, says GL-4/5 rated on the bottle. But
according to Redline, and VAG Bentley manuals, that a contradiction/incongruity.

It takes a while to glean the straight dope out of Redline's website, but after a bit of
clicking around, it becomes clear.
