Edmunds shows the values for a 1999 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T as:
Trade-In	$7,501 	
Private Party	$8,892
Dealer Retail	$10,340

Unless you think the car is worth about a $3K premium,
I'd offer a *lot* less, or walk away from it.
