Unfortunately (for me) the recommended two-post lifts look like they require
too much overhead room for my garage...I did some measuring last night and
the Direct Lift 4-post model would appear to barely fit height-wise (by the
time one car is on and one under) in my
concrete-foundation-surrounded-by-earth-on-three-sides garage. I may need to
back the Audi on with the lift all the way against the back wall in order to
clear (just barely) the garage door opener with the hood vs. trunk. Or use
the unfinished ceiling side for an tiny bit more clearance. Still better
than the $200 Costco canvas carport, or the
sell-both-your-cars-and-get-new-$Jetta$, options suggested by GF. She would
also be ok with trading my Audi and her Outback for an $$Allroad$$ for her
to drive, so her heart is in the right place ;)
