Towing

FWIW, I've flat-towed several quattros for about 10-15 mi at speeds anywhere from 35 to 50 (read: strapping them home LOL), never any ill effects that I've found.

Most interesting was last winter at night in a near white-out LOL

None of them were newer than the '90 MY

okay so what models have Torsen center differentials?  i looked over my
bentley manual covering my 87 5000 quattro and it says the following under
long distance towing.

"There are no restrictions on speed or distance when towing
manual-transmission cars behind other vehicles."

it also has this warning.

CAUTION - 5000 CS Quattro only

"Whenever possible, tow with front wheels off ground. The central and rear
differential must be "unlocked" during towing."

i didn't see any prohibitions for towing a quattro in neutral all four
down.  i did this with a car that i have yet to drive hence the curiosity.
