I just took my wife's 1993 Audi 100cs Quattro Avant off the road for that
problem and many others we were experiencing. On our transmission, it would shift
VERY hard into third gear SOMETIMES. For the longest time (maybe 2-3 months)
the transmission was working perfectly, as if there never was a problem. Our
car felt the same way at a stop. It felt like it still wanted to apply driving
force even thought there was no throttle for it. I suspected a few things on
the transmission. The torque convertor of the pump assembly were going bad or
there was some goofy things going on within the valve body. I have changed
fluid, changed TCM's, adjusted the selector shaft and still the same.

I have this car listed in the marketplace. I do not feel comfortable selling
the car the way it is. I would rather sell it off for parts. It's a shame,
because it was such a good reliable car for such a long time. We replaced it with
a 1996 Audi A6 Quattro Avant. A more refined version of the 1993 100.
