All Road Audi

I have an 03. Nice car. But it depends of what kind of feeling you want and
what kind of driving you do. Due to the type of steering it has and also the
type of suspension it has, the ride is very soft and the steering does not
give you a feeling of direct feedback from the road. I am comparing this
ride to a similar year standard A6. Totally different feel.
The car is also very slow off the line with the 2.7 T with the automatic.
I'm using it more in the tip mode lately and shifting manually to get a
decent response. On the open road, unless you can anticipate when you'll
need power, turbo lag is evident. It's hard to do quick acceleration and a
lane change. It's a heavy car for this motor and I tend to be heavy on the
gas to get it to move. I hear the manual version is quite good in
acceleration. The gas consumption is approx 16 city and I never got better
than 21 sustained hgwy driving.
Also keep in mind that this motor has mechanical issues that can be quite
expensive to fix. Others here are more knowledgeable than me on this issue.
IMHO and only in my opinion, unless you like the adjustable height and a
little exclusivity depending where you live, you'd be better served with a
standard avant with the 3.0. The reason I got the car is due to the higher
ride height. It's easier for me to egress in and out of the car. I'm also
leasing so I don't care about mechanical reliability either.
Has anybody here have a comparison to an A6, either V8 or 3 ltr to a Passat
with the W8 and sport suspension. It's been asked before but no replies.
Good luck with your decision Cat. Hope I was helpful.
