Part Request - more info, questions!!!

Ok, so I found over a dozen of these ECUs on car-part.com

This is a CALIFORNIA ECU!  Arg...no wonder hard to find around here...I
found a post in the Archives about NEVER mixing the cali with federal
ECUs...

My question is, I think part of my problem is this mix was done!  My ECU
was loose, and had obviously been pulled before...its possible that
someone swapped in a Cali ECU into a Federal car...how can I confirm?  I
cannot find a single emissions sticker on the car anywhere.

Anyone with a Cali Audi 90Q care to inform me if there was a special
sticker somewhere on the car...or maybe a special option code on the
sticker in the trunk?
