For all of you gurus -o- megasquirt and all things EFI... I have to
tell you, I can't think of anything else. Sitting.... blank stare...
EFI... mmmmm
SO, I am sure that I want the experience in fabricating my system, so
I think MS is the way I'm gonna go. (Javad, you totally have my
respect). I've read codys site throughly... enjoyed it throughly...
and have a few parts questions.
1. where might be the best place to find injectors? Cody used bosch
low impedance 42 lb/hr injectors. How much are injectors like these
new. Do any of you try to source these from cars in salvage. what are
the best places to find these?
2. do the injector pigtails come with the injectors or is that a
new/salvage item?
3. has anyone ever scanned in bracket patterns they used to hold many
of the fab. items in?
Paul Cole mentioned :
"If all else fails the MegaSquirt EFI project has made many MC engines
REALLY run well.
A local lister here in Minnesota has a 5k MC-1 running on MS and it's
as reliable and runs( solid idle,
great throttle response, good power etc) as well as my 200q 20VT with
Motronic EFI.
Basically you replace the CIS with MS and use the stock ignition computer.
cost is around $250 ( MS kit is $150 and it is DIY assembly) plus a
fuel rail and some injectors
( junk yard parts work fine) and aeroquip style hose and fittings."
I have a 2Bennett modified ECU. will that be ok or will that money
have gone to waste? I guess I could just put that on my '86 5KTQ. AND
if i decide to add features of MS or ultraMS... are there consequences
of is it a set up that allows progression?
Well, thanks again all in advance. I really appreciate all of the
feedback I seem to get.
