Nothing like a little competition to make cars go faster:) EFI
Megasquirt vs. 034 should be changed to DIY Megasquirt vs. aftermarket
EFI. To single out Javad as the only competition doesn't quite work
here. 034EFI should be grouped together with Haltech, Autronic,
Motec, Link, AEM, etc... They all have state of the art ECU's that
will work very well once tuned and installed properly. Now out of all
of those people, I doubt you will find anyone that even comes close to
having the support for Audi's and VW's that 034EFI has. That's why
you want to go with them. I have a MS sitting in my drawer right now,
but it never has appealed to me for some reason. I have a great
relationship with Javad that has allowed me to do alot of these silly
things to my car. Cody, all the help I've given you, probably came to
me from Javad at some point;) Javad is a busy man these days, he
definitely isn't around as much anymore. He's been working on his
20vt trying to get it to 500 whp, uncorrected. Hell, he's already at
455, at the freaken wheels! One of the great things about the system,
just keep putting on larger turbo's till you get there:)
Now, to the original question. Installing and tuning is going to be
similar regardless of what system you go with. There's just an extra
step with MS, and that's building it, and troubleshooting little
things like trigger signals, and uploading code. If you're OK with
that stuff, give MS a try. I seem to screw up enough things outside
of the ECU, that I'm glad that's one piece I never have to worry
about.
