Mark,
Thank you for your input. All the things that you mentioned are possible
with the exception of the subframe issues, I don't believe I have any
issues there. I'll know more after tonite and I'll let you know.
Thanks, Dave.

Dave,
I'm going to make a couple of guesses regarding your car. My first guess
is
that you have a number of rubber mounts that have failed, or are about to
fail. I'd look at the right-front motor mount first. It's my guess that
it's sagged or failed allowing something to contact the driveshaft under
negative load. (Deceleration) Look for witness marks on the catalyst, any
heat shields, etc. My next guess is the rear differential mounts that were
going bad - have GONE bad. They're allowing the differential to lift away
from the rear subframe under negative load which raises the driveshaft;
thus
allowing contact with any of the aforementioned items. My third guess is
that it's possible you've either broken a couple of subframe bolts, or the
bushings for them have disintegrated to a point where the entire subframe
can moved around their remains. If that is the case then you MUST NOT
DRIVE
THE CAR until you get it fixed.
Please be careful if you have to drive this vehicle. Also, take extra care
when working underneath it too.
Let the list know what you find - best of luck,
Mark
