Name That Hose (identifying leak in 1993 S4)

First, thanks to those who have already responded -- it's great to see the 
list hasn't changed as far as extremely quick, helpful advice.

Second, I see there's no need to ask that responses be sent to me at my 
Hotmail address, inasmuch as even though I have set my options so that I 
only get the digest version, I can see posts almost immediately by looking 
on the current archives page.

Third, I apologize for not having mentioned (1) when I looked under the hood 
I didn't notice any diminished levels of brake fluid, coolant or (if I have 
this right) power steering fluid and (2) there was the distinct odor (to my 
untrained nose, but then again it's not a very subtle smell) of a petroleum 
[by]product.

So it certainly sounds like gasoline.  Maybe I can provide more useful 
information if when I go home I get under the car, and though I don't have a 
handy flashlight, a small cigarette lighter will . . . okay, only kidding.
