German Cupholders

I have one that works almost the same way (but not as nicely damped)
as the A4/A6 cupholder in the Subaru. Even with a decently insulated
vacuum mug, the coffee gets cold with the air blowing right on the
mug.
snip!
I had the same thing in my '93 legacy turbo ;) didn't know they still
used that design. I guess the thought would be if you've got a mug,
you don't need another distraction form the radio. I say humbug to
that, i personally prefer to drive with my cellphone in one hand,
coffee in the other, cigarette in my mouth, and steer with my knees
down pedestrian infested roads at high speed while polishing my gun
hopped up on crack. ;)
Seriously though, i'm glad to have cupholders at all, my escort, and
all my audis have been without, It is certainly no fun driving a 5spd
on Northern NJ's hilly backroads with a piping hot cup of coffee
between your legs, or in one of the cheapo holders that hang on the
window sill which fall off all the time.
Regards
Brendan
