Bad Puppy is no more

About 3 weeks ago, my fiancee's 20 year-old son took ownership
of my '89 200 TQ, "Bad Puppy". It needed some work, but he was
happy. He replaced a cracked rim, put in a new battery, got a 20
day plate for it, got it inspected, and yesterday, feeling good about
it, he spent $160 registering it.

This morning we got a phone call. He said that the car had caught
fire and burned. I don't have all the details, but he smelled smoke,
pulled over to the side of the road, and saw the fire coming from
under the hood. The Euro headlights -- burned. From the sound of
it, we can't even save the sport seats.

I was sad when the car left me, and I asked for right of first refusal
when it came time to sell it. Now I'm heartbroken it died with a fire.

Bad Puppy! - putting a final exclamation point on her apt name.
