I guess that's possible, but about 3 years ago the fan wasn't 
working due to a corroded factory fuse.  I spliced in a generic 
80A fuse, sourced from the FLAPS.  

The car did have electrical issues (radio not working, flasher 
lights glowing faint and steady), but the fire started (I believe)
under the hood.
