[A4] Radio Noise+

Speaking of radio noise on an A4 platform (1999 NBeetle) - I wish I had some.  Killed the radio a few days ago after a brain flatulence during boosting the car and reversing the boost battery poles.  Shame, I know, but ... it's never too late in life to do something stupid.
So, what does typically happen in such a reverse poles connection situation?  Except for the dead radio - not even alarm LED blinking, everything on the car works fine.  Can I exepct to be lucky and have just a blown fuse?  So far checked 2 radio system fuses in the fuse box - both fine.  There's a 10A on the back of the radio, but still working on the fancy tools needed for pulling it out.
