type44 rough start and rough idle when cold.. CO off?

FWIW, I had many similar symptoms on my '87 5kcstq. Of course the problem is 
that it could be about 10 different things. Check the Bentley and 
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/.

But after much frustration, changing many an expensive part, everything from 
warm-up regulator to o2 sensors, here's what fixed everything:

Grab some electrical contact cleaner/lubricant, emery cloth/sandpaper, zip 
ties, heavy duty electrical tape. Then, go bonkers in the engine bay w/ all 
the electrical connectors you can find--detatch, clean, lube, re-attach. 
Cover any bare wire, zip tie any wires touching something they're not 
supposed to (hot engine block, turbo, etc.).  Takes 15 minutes. My car never 
so well, prolly since new. Ned (?) at Intended Acceleration also mentions 
this "secret" fix.
