When you push the brake you are reverse pressure bleeding the clutch slave. 
Some people dont own a pressure bleeder (like me) so this is a way to 
pressure bleed with nothing more then your car plus a few feet of rubber 
hose. There is a coiled section of the metal line to the slave cyl that 
holds bubbles very well too, the reverse method brings them out a little 
easier from what I've found.

I forgot to mention earlier, you can watch for bubbles in the fluid 
reservoir to see progress, but you can't always see them.
