Group B clutch...

I've been wondering this for a while, and just decided to ask the all-knowing list. I've seen some videos with the Group B Quattros and the Pikes Peak Q-cars having a clutch thats declutched by a button on top of the shifter. How'd they do it? I'm thinking it's gota be an electric solenoid on the clutch pedal (the pedal moves when they hit the button), but that would have to be one hell of a solenoid!
