Those rubber hangars are common leak points, usually starts out as a
faint odor of fuel and then springs a pinhole.
The easiest thing to do is get a piece of rubber fuel line and two small
hose clamps, cut out the leaking metal section with a small pipe cutter,
then clamp the rubber fuel line onto the ends to bridge the section you
cut off.
And, before someone chimes in saying that generic SAE rubber fuel hose
can't take the pressure..(someone always does, this subject comes up
often):
I've used Flaps fuel hose (I THINK 3/8 fuel line fits) and my BTDT tells
me different, I've got 3 or 4 mends on the 5KS, the oldest one going on
at least 7 years and never a problem. As long as it's fuel hose, and not
vacuum or oil line. Don't need the solid fuel injection hose clamps
either, just the "German" ones, that aren't slotted, but have the teeth
raised on the band. Even if you have no options except the 'merican
serrated clamps, you'll usually clamp the line far enough up the line
that it won't make much difference if it cuts into the rubber a bit.
Cut out a piece of the offending fuel line and take it with you to buy
the hose, I'm not sure if 3/8 is the right size, or if the 4K line is the
same size as the 5K line. It should fit snugly, taking some pressure to
go on, so a little bit of silicone is good to have handy to help push the
hose onto the fuel line.
