Fault code pulling - 1988 5000 TQ

Tony,

According to SJM and my Bentley, the extra contacts on the fuel pump relay are connected to Pin 31 of the ECU and to ground, connector ILa on the Fuse/Relay panel.  In the Bentley, connector T14a/14 at the instrument panel is connected to the "Knock Sensor Lite" (as it is called in the diagram, a little confusingly.) 

Also there are two separate functions that can be activated by bridging the relay - pulling the fault codes, or activating the ECU output tests.
