Popping clunk from back end when stopping...

Thanks so much for the extra quick replies!

The Exhaust hangers are all new, along with the entire exhaust - cat
back -about 1 year old and it doesn't seem to be moving around.

Are the trapezoid arm bushings the control arm bushings?  If so they are
also new, about 6 mos. old.

I am going to have my wife drive and stop several times with me in the trunk
( Maybe I should wear a helmet and padding?) to try to see where it is
coming from.  It almost sounds like it is coming from the gas tank(?).  It
sounds almost like sheet metal flexing a bit and then popping back into
shape.
