I eventually changed to "factory" power windows.  Get good used ones and 
lube them well and you should be good for many years.  Installing the 
harness can be a time-eater, but will be nice when you're done.

By the way, when I bought my 82 back in about 92, the *passenger* manual 
reg was in rough shape already.
