Intermittent Window/Sunroof Problem

The Window Control Module does control both the sunroof and the windows (and a number of other lighting functions). It can indeed go bad. I just replaced one that was intermittently powering the windows and sunroof with a spare. The intermittent behavior has vanished (with no rework in the door wiring). Sadly, I no longer have a spare and a new one costs over $200 at the dealer.

Check the wiring in the driver doorjamb. Because of the control module, the windows and sunroof share some wiring that becomes intermittent andthen totally nonfunctional as the wiring in the doorjamb breaks from allthat bending and straightening. At 05:51 PM 6/30/2005 -0700, Jacque Hendrix wrote:>'89 Audi 100>The windows and sunroof intermittently will not work.I've looked for a >loose ground but couldn't find one but did find a relay (or what's labeled a >Window Control Module) under the knee bolser to the left of the steering >column.>>Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you resolve it?(if at all) >>I'm reluctant to just replace that relay/module, the only place I could find >one at the dealer for $207. >>Jacque Hendrix>Spokane, Washington>> >_______________________________________________>quattro mailing list>quattro at audifans.com>http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/quattro_______________________________________________quattro mailing listquattro at audifans.comhttp://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/quattro
