Front wheel bearing replacement

I used a large socket that was slightly smaller
than the bearing outter race and an even larger
socket that was slightly larger than then bearing
outter race. Remove the axle, fit the smaller
socket directly on the bearing on the outside, run
a piece of half inch threaded stock through the
bearing and the the larger socket, which rides on
the hub. Run down nuts and washers on both ends. A
few judicious hammer strokes on the outter end to
get started and crank down the nuts.
Sorry, it's early in the morning and I don't have
the sizes of the sockets (three quarter or one
inch drive, as I recall) that I used. They are
available at Sears and the threaded stock, nuts
and washers are at the local hardware store.
