Kent, I'm curious, does that car have a belly pan? Mine does and this has
raised a question in my mind. I know that it needs to be removed to change
the filter. I have had 1 non-dealer oil change (at 10k miles, not covered
by 'free maintenance' plan) and took it to a local garage that I have used
for years on several different cars - in other words, I trust them... But
I have also heard that replacing these pans can be a bit of a nightmare.
So now I am wondering if they actually changed the filter, since they only
charged me the normal oil change price (less the cost of the oil since I
provided the M1). Can't check because I have since had the 15k change at
the dealer. I am due for the 20k change (garage again) in 300 miles, so
guess I will check the filter after that.
