Late '83, and in line with the price of the quattro, the hot ticket
was a Nakamichi TD-1200. Odds of finding a working unit are
probably slim, even in my co-workers Mercedes the screws in
the slide-out transport module were always coming loose.
I put the much more robust TD-700 in the SC with it's rock-hard
suspension. Amazing sound quality when matched with tapes
recorded on Nak home gear, and very good-looking in the dash.
