It's no secret -- check the archives. I've had no worse luck
than many others on the list.
My '94 100 S, with the same V6 as you '93 90, has been refrigerator
reliable compared to my '89 200 TQ. For reference, I drove my '89
to 237K miles. But I also had an '82 Honda Accord, which I bought
new, that I drove to 273K miles. It still had the original clutch.
My '89 200 not only had the clutch replaced, but also the pedal,
which broke the tab that pushed on the master cylinder rod. The 200
needed lots of other non-maintenance stuff like that that the Honda
didn't (clutch pedal, gas tank, oil cooler). YMMV.
That said, if the person with the original question bought an '89 200
TQ based on your experience with a '93 90, they might be very surprised
at the amount of maintenance the older car requires.
