Audis have corrupted me (long)

I replaced my 87 5ktq at over 300k miles with a Mercedes. (I ALMOST
replaced it with a 2005 Honda Accord EX V-6.) When I came out of the Honda
dealership I saw an E320 MB that had just come in on trade, so I ask for a
test drive. I took it home and picked up the wife, and we kept the car out
for about an hour and really wrung it out. We both drove it and then we
talked it over.
It was almost as comfortable as the Audi, and had that same high quality
feel to everything, and it handled very crisply. My wife has arthritis and
she was surprised that it rode and handled almost as well as the old Audi.
And I liked the design....a little like a big Porsche in a lot of ways.
So, I checked KBB and offered the dealer the wholesale price of the Benz,
figuring he would want to move it off his lot for cash at what he had
allowed as a trade in. They complained some but ultimately took my money.
I've been driving it for a year and can't imagine being much happier. But
that old 87 5ktq in my driveway, with over 300k miles, is still my favorite
ride and I take it for a spin every few days.....never over 50 miles from
home. I really don't NEED it but I can't let go. It is just not totally
reliable. So, it is a plaything now.
