The air inlet sensor is located on the IC, passenger side
of the engine compartment. It is mounted on the top (outlet?)
side of the IC, held in place by a couple of allen screws (5 mm?).
It unfortunately does NOT have a connector, so you must cut the
wires to remove and test it. When testing/replacing this unit, I'd use
a generous amount of heat shrink on both leads, and a third heat
shrink around both wires, as it is in a rather exposed situation. And
yes, I soldered my repair, if you crimp, use the kind of crimp with
the built in solder/sealer and heat shrink that. I don't recall the test
values for this sensor, as my Bentley is packed in storage, but I do
recall that the sensor needs to be removed from the circuit to test.
This makes me think that it's resistance values are on the lower
side, making testing it a more sensitive issue.
