IMO not at all; my 4kq gets 5k changes with Mobil Delvac 1300, a supercheap 
diesel oil ($5/gal at Walmart).

  If you search the web you'll find good evidence that the 3k change 
interval that's been beaten into our heads is a marketing construct designed 
to sell more oil/oil changes.
