Sounds as stout as a Panzer, thanks, Britt!

Your worried about chain drive breaking?
Well my '93 well abused Grand Chrokee has a chain in the transfer case too.
31" tires, pulling the boat and trailer around. Stuck in the Mud/Sand
If its desiged right I see no prob with the chain. I've even seen a jeep
blow a chunck out of the T-Case and the gears fall out! Chain was still
hanging there in one piece.

I've run across an '04 C240 4Matic with 2,800 miles for the typical retail
price identified at kbb.com.

Not a flaw on this one, folks, but when the salesman mentioned chain-drive
transfer case....I think my heart stopped. <checking pulse, again>

If you've got any thoughts from real-life, hands-on experience with these
cars, please let me know.

Thanks!

~ Doug
