Don't you have a friend you can tap for a ride there and back?  You 
might want to call first, of course, and have a clerk there pretend to 
make sure they have one on the shelf.

Do you have the triple square set yet?  It sounds like you are planning 
on changing the tranny fluid while replacing the bad CV joint?

Not knowing their "real" reason, I would guess that they don't want to 
deal with any sales tax paperwork, anywhere, anytime.  B to B sales 
would always be exempt.
