[snipped the rest]
This sounds very much like what plagued me with the Gentleman's
Express. It turned out to be the RPM sensor which has a loose
connection/connector. When the engine rocks, the wire from the
connector to the sensor itself pulls on the connector and breaks
contact. The CPU reads this as "no RPM" and shuts down the fuel pump
relay, in turn shutting down the fuel pump and killing the engine.
Dave Head discovered this while bumping the wire from the connector to
the sensor and then we dug out the wiring diagrams and verified that
this was what was happening. I don't know if you have an RPM sensor
like the V8 does, but I'd have to believe that something with an
intermittent lose connection is causing the CPU to get a "no RPM"
message and signal the fuel pump relay to shut down the fuel pump.
Perhaps one of the wires in the tray that you are shaking leads to a
failing sensor or one with a loose connector. If you have an RPM
sensor, I would suspect that to be your culprit.
