Fuel Pump Relay question

Interesting development:

I went back out again to try and "work" on the car. Started for a
second and died. I couldn't get it started for 30 minutes, no matter
HOW much I tugged on the wires under the fusebox. Thought "great...
whatever was loose is now BROKEN"

As a last ditch effort, I disconnected the electrical conection to the ISV.

Car started RIGHT up. No matter how hard I tugged on the under
fusebox wires, I could NOT get the car to stall.

It's hard to remember, but I think the car -might- have stalled with
it disconnected, and I think I may have re-connected it, let it cycle
(yes, it works) and disconnected it again. Not sure of this though...
I've done too many things today lol

Now... the VERY first time I had a problem with this car not starting,
I poped the hood and something told me to disconnect the ISV since it
has "control" over the engine idle (I didn't know much about it back
then) and even back then, the car started up FIRST try. I wound up
driving around with it disconnected, thinking the ISV just needed to
be cleaned. Don't remember when I re-connected it or why.... too long
ago. The car only idles about 200 RPM higher with it disconnected.

So now I'm wondering... Could a problem in the wiring for the ISV be
causing the ECU to shut the engine off? Maybe a short in the ISV
wiring somewhere in the fuse box area (or in the fusebox)? If I
disconnect the ISV's connection... maybe there's no power running
through those wires anymore so no more random stalling problem?

Just seems weird that I unplug the thing and now I can't shake the
wiring and kill the engine. I sat with the car and it idled for 15
minutes with no problem. Shut it off and re-started it and it worked
fine.

Still wonder if maybe I better ride my bike to work tomorrow...
