FPR problem

Looking at a wiring diagram for certain Audis (my 85 4KS for example) shows 
the FPR and spark control go thru the Knock Sensor Control Unit (mine was 
bad, car was down 8 months for my lack of knowledge). If the fuel pump runs 
with a jumper wire in place of the FPR, the 2 largest terminals jumpered, 
then its not your fuel pump. Check further to see if your car has a knock 
sensor control unit(mine was inside the center console, behind the gauges 
and below the window switches) and check for continuity from the hall sender 
to the ign control unit. Hope it helps, good luck.
