Along the lines of David's advice, looking at something like the '00+
A4 2.8, '02+ A4 3.0, '00-04 A6 2.8/3.0 would be the lowest maintenance
cars in the Audi lineup.

A Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT would be another good choice that has AWD and
decent reliability.
