Did they put a "death chip" in the newer catalytic converters, like they
now do on inkjet cartridges? This is the 5th or 6th person I've come
across whose car has been dealer diagnosed with bad cats, AFTER (some a
few hundred miles after) the Federal 8 years/80,000 mile emission
warranty expires. I smell a rat, the kind that a new cat won't take care
of.
