OTT: US Formula 1 race great for Ferarri, bad for Michelin

I posted this link the other day and it clearly shows that Michelin KNEW
that Indy would be a problem for them.

Of course Bridgestone's sister, Firestone, had run plenty of laps on the
new Indy surface AND Bridgestone used the data effectively.............
that is obvious. Most other teams decided to go to Silverstone for
testing even though Michelin wasn't confident that they could supply a
reliable tire for the USGP............. bad move as it turns out. Ralf's
serious shunt last year was the handwriting on the WALL. No pun intended!

If the fans interests were of paramount importance to the other teams
the could have run the race, made additional pit stops for tire checks
and replaced them as needed under the current rules. If 14 cars were
subject to penalties for tire changing that's life but there were still
points available................... even if Jordan and Minardi managed
to finish in traffic conditions.
