4KQ "hot" wire and digidash escapade

So its power comes from the light switch in the dash, eh?  The PO of the
car had really hacked up that wiring and I rehacked some of it several
years ago when the light switch connector plastic melted.  I must have
crossed something, I suppose.  I'd rather pull the bulb than pull the dash
off again to get to that wiring.
