'89 Audi 200TQ Stripped O2 sensor boss

Good Day all,
I am really up the creek now.  I was replacing the original O2 this  morning 
and it was really really in there, got out the old persuader after  liberally 
soaking with penetrating fluid I just went out to see if I would have  any 
luck.....well the O2 sensor came out along with the threads in the exhaust  
manifold.  What can be done in this case, do I need a new exhaust  manifold?  can 
it be retapped?  What do I do, I think I may be over my  head at this point, 
and may have to seek professional help.
