Testing Aux Fan Switch?

I pulled the wires off of the switch and jumped the two outside wires, fans 
started right up. Pretty much confirms it's the thermal switch. I've ordered 
a new one and should have it installed in a couple of days.

Question is, is it worth replacing a heater hose where the bleed screw has 
failed. I currently just have the screw held in place with a host clamp, 
which has sealed the opening, just wondering if it's worth even bothering 
replacing the hose. From what I've read, this seems to be a pretty common 
problem.
