Tom, in the same vein, I had to replace the subframe bushings (and bolts) on
my urQuattro. Bolts were needed because they are supposed to be of the
"stretch-to-yield" variety, meaning single use. 

I bought some graded generic bolts from my Audi dealer (these were found in
the bolt cabinet, not in the OEM parts shelves), just to discover that they
were too soft; when I torqued them, there was not much resistance felt at
the torque wrench. Hum...

Then, I ordered true OEM bolts at 4.54$ each, and it became clear; these are
really high-grade fasteners, I clearly felt the difference at the business
end of the t-wrench.
